How to Play
Welcome to the Word Similarity Game! Here's how to play:
- A secret word is chosen each day.
- Your goal is to guess this secret word.
- Enter your guess in the input field and click "Guess" or press Enter.
- The game will show you three similarity percentages:
- Overall Similarity: A weighted combination of letter frequency and position matching.
- Letter Frequency Match: How well your guess matches the frequency of letters in the secret word.
- Position Match: The percentage of letters in your guess that are in the correct position.
- Keep guessing until you find the secret word!
Understanding the Similarity Percentages
The similarity percentages are calculated based on how close your guess is to the secret word:
- 100% in all categories: Your guess is exactly the secret word. You win!
- High percentages: Your guess is very close. You might be off by just a letter or two.
- Medium percentages: Your guess has some similarities but still differs significantly.
- Low percentages: Your guess is quite different from the secret word.
Features
- Hint Button: Click "Get Hint" to reveal the first letter of the secret word. For longer words, it also shows the total number of letters.
- Daily Word: The secret word changes each day, so come back tomorrow for a new challenge!
- Guess History: Your previous guesses and their feedback are displayed, helping you refine your strategy.
Tips for Success
- Pay attention to both the letter frequency and position percentages to guide your next guess.
- A high frequency match but low position match means you have many correct letters but in the wrong order.
- Use the hint wisely - it's available throughout the game but only shows limited information.
- Remember, the secret word is the same for everyone on a given day, so you can compare your progress with friends!
